With the changing season comes the changing light over the mountain. Since I started to pay closer attention to the mountain in my “backyard” at the start of the year, I also noticed how as the days lengthen the mountain seems to recede into haze that sometimes shimmers while at other times just dulls the ridge by rendering it out of focus. Without clouds or fog, the sky also goes flat and nearly colorless.
Soon, when summer should arrive and the fog will roll in, perhaps the mountain will come into sharper relief once again. Or else I’ll have to venture out and to the other side to catch the better views….
