In the morning, the mountain went in and out of view with the gathering and flight of clumps of clouds. What happened after that, I don’t know. I was too far out of range to see the ridges. At twilight on the way back to Marin, there it was for a moment: the familiar outline of the mountain — and then, night came.

The rain around here seems to want to make up for some 35 days of being absent, but even wind-whipped as it’s coming down, so far it has produced mostly thin rivulets, tiny floods, and light muddy slides. All this could change by tomorrow. After all, it’s the weather we are talking about. As for Mt. Tam, I am sure it’s there, even if I lost sight of it for the last two days now.
